The differences between wired and wireless intercoms in elevators

Scalability

• Wired intercom: Small expansion capacity, insufficient reserved ports. When adding elevators in the future, the main unit needs to be replaced or the wiring redone, which involves a large amount of work.

• Wireless intercom: The main unit can support multiple sub-units (200 sub-units), and one sub-unit can support up to 4 elevators. If expansion is needed in the future, just add the corresponding sub-units.

• Aging property

• Wired intercom: It requires a large amount of wiring. Once the cables age, it will affect the call, and re-inspection and re-wiring are needed, which will increase material costs, labor costs and maintenance costs. The maintenance cost is relatively high.

• Wireless intercom: No wiring required, saving on cable costs. Manual inspection of aging conditions is simple. If a machine is severely aged, it can be replaced directly. The maintenance cost is relatively low.

"Signal"

• Wired intercom: Signals are transmitted through cables. If the cable is too long, it may cause signal attenuation and signal stability.

• Wireless intercom: It uses wireless transmission, with no signal attenuation. The antenna and extension are usually installed in the rooftop machine room, and the antenna is placed outdoors for stable signal.
